Perm O 2 Pore™– Professional Use Guidelines
Whether heavily compacted, oxygen-starved, pushed-up greens or sand-based root zones plagued with localized dry spot, problem soils are improved with Perm O 2 Pore™ Ceramic Granules.
Localized Dry Spot:
- Core Aerify affected area with 1/2 to 3/4 inch tines, two passes if possible, remove plugs.
- Using Drop or Broadcast Spreader (wide open setting), apply Perm O 2 Pore™ to aerified area at up to 125 pounds per thousand square feet.
- Cover area with equal volume of regular topdressing sand.
- Broom or drag mixture into aerification holes ensuring all holes are completely filled, leaving up to 1/8 inch of material on surface.
- Important: Leaf tips of grass plants should be visible above material. Excess can be spread off to the sides.
- Water thoroughly to ensure all particles are “charged” with moisture.
Note: One treatment will begin to show improvement but the second and third applications are necessary to realize the full benefit of treatment.
Poor Drainage:
- Deep tine or Deep Drill aerifiy area as deeply and with as large tines as possible
(3/4 to 1 1/4 inch diameter) remove plugs or tailings.
- Using Drop or Broadcast Spreader (wide open setting), apply Perm O 2 Pore™ at 150 to 200 pounds per thousand square feet.

Note: One treatment will usually provide dramatic improvement in drainage. However, a program of annual or bi-annual treatments is recommended for lasting results.
Larger Areas:
- Larger areas such as entire greens, tees or practice areas may be treated using the techniques described above. Topdressing equipment may be employed for application of Perm O 2 Pore™ instead of spreaders. Experimentation with the gate settings for the topdresser is the only sure way of adjusting for variations in equipment.
- Perm O 2 Pore™ blended in bulk with your preferred topdressing sand may be available for treatment of larger areas. Ask your local representative for details.
Drill & Fill Aerification and Backfill Treatment:
- A prepared blend of sand and Perm O 2 Pore™ is recommended. Ask your local representative for details on availability of prepared blends.
